Uniflow Controls Expands Manufacturing Capacity with ₹500 Million Investment in Ambernath, Maharashtra

The Industry 4.0 compliant facility Plans to raise production capacity to 40,000–50,000 valves annually and support entry into new industrial sectors

Ambernath  Uniflow Controls Pvt. Ltd., a manufacturer of industrial control valves and engineered flow-control solutions, has invested approximately ₹500 million in capital expenditure to establish an Industry 4.0 compliant manufacturing facility at Ambernath MIDC, Maharashtra. The facility is aimed at significantly expanding the company’s production capacity, strengthening automation and technology capabilities, and supporting its growth across domestic and international markets.

The new facility marks a significant transformation in Uniflow’s manufacturing footprint after 17 years in the control-valve industry. Over the years, the company has built strong market trust while maintaining a firm commitment to engineering process excellence. Uniflow currently manufactures around 8,000 valves annually from its Thane facility. With the addition of the Ambernath plant, the company expects to increase its annual manufacturing capacity by nearly five to six times to 40,000–50,000 valves.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Manoj Mishra, Managing Director, Uniflow Controls Pvt. Ltd., said, “The new facility represents a significant transformation in how we approach production capacity and market expansion. Our objective is not simply to add production capacity, but to build a future-ready manufacturing ecosystem that combines automation, engineering capabilities and operational flexibility. This investment will help us strengthen our domestic position, expand into emerging sectors such as LNG and nuclear energy, and build the capabilities required to serve global markets. At the same time, we see Ambernath as an important base for creating employment, developing technical skills and strengthening the local industrial ecosystem,”

The Ambernath MIDC location was selected for its established industrial ecosystem, connectivity and access to manufacturing infrastructure. The facility benefits from road and rail connectivity, proximity to major transportation routes, ports and airports, and access to established power and water infrastructure. Its location also provides access to skilled and semi-skilled manpower from nearby urban and residential areas.

The investment is guided by three key objectives: strengthening domestic cost leadership, accelerating product development and expanding export capabilities. Uniflow plans to use flexible automation, plug-and-play manufacturing spaces to support rapid prototype testing and highly customised products. The expanded manufacturing capabilities will also support its plans to enter new sectors, including LNG and nuclear energy, while strengthening its ability to meet international standards and requirements.

Uniflow manufactures control valves for process industries and critical applications, with a portfolio spanning globe control valves, ball valves, butterfly valves, plug valves, pressure relief valves, flush bottom valves, diaphragm valves and pressure-reducing systems. The company has developed around 35 SKUs and more than 30 design patents and has completed more than 4,300 projects, serving a customer base of over 1,250 clients.

The new plant will operate as an Industry 4.0-compliant manufacturing facility, integrating advanced automation and connected manufacturing technologies. Its technology ecosystem includes CNC machinery, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), AI-enabled predictive maintenance, computer vision-based inspection, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), automated inventory management and vertical space optimization through automated storage and retrieval systems. These technologies are expected to improve production visibility, inventory management, quality control, resource utilisation and operational efficiency.

The facility is capable of supporting an overall workforce of more than 175 employees, with approximately 40–50% of the initial workforce expected to be sourced from nearby suburbs. The investment is also expected to create indirect employment and business opportunities for local suppliers, contractors, transporters, logistics providers, hospitality businesses and other service partners.

With the new facility, Uniflow aims to create a scalable and technology-led manufacturing platform capable of meeting the evolving requirements of process industries while strengthening its competitiveness in both Indian and global markets.
