Post-Brexit Britain needs engines of growth

The SCALA Annual Logistics Debate defined the post-Brexit Britain’s need for sustainability and stronger supply chain management to drive its growth. While countries expressed positive notes on the inherent advantages of Britain’s business environment, they also pointed out a number of priorities that need to be focused on. The changing nature of consumer behavior, better supply chain experience, inter-company collaboration, environmental improvement, data visualization and infusing young talent in the industry were some of the top focus areas mentioned. The Debate also had companies airing their confidence in Britain’s ability to be a strong business player and that the consumer confidence has not yet taken a hit if the continued strength of sales was anything to go by.

The Debate summarized that British firms needed to ensure that their costs are kept low so that they remain competitive in the longer run which otherwise has the potential to make a dent in their sales in coming times.
