CSCMP to host Series of SCM Workshops in India

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) announced that it will begin offering educational workshops to the growing number of supply chain professionals in India and the entire Asia-Pacific region. The first workshop will be held July 30-31, 2013 in Mumbai, and will be a comprehensive, first-level introduction to supply chain management (SCM).

Facilitated and delivered by two of India’s top academics, TAS Vijayaraghavan and Rajiv Misra, and industry expert Rajesh Achanta, Introduction to Supply Chain Management is designed for practitioners new to the SCM field or those more experienced who require a broader understanding of how all functions within a supply chain operate and impact one another. Workshop content will include real world case studies, interactive learning, and group discussions.
“CSCMP is committed to the continuous education of our members working in all parts of the world,” said Rick Blasgen, CSCMP’s president and chief executive officer. “As such, we are thrilled to be launching a series of top-notch supply chain educational workshops throughout India and beyond, tailored to all levels of professionals. World-class case studies and thought-provoking supply chain games will be part of many of the events’ learnings. In addition, we’ve lined up some of the most renowned supply chain faculty in the region to lead the workshops.”

The event will cover SCM principles and show attendees how they can integrate logistics decisions into overall supply chain planning. Participants will also gain an understanding of the relationship between SCM and sales and operations planning (S&OP), and learn how to demonstrate the impact that SCM has on a company’s profitability to top management.
Scheduled for 8:00 am to 4:00 pm both days, the workshop will be held at the Hilton Mumbai International Airport. Attendees will earn 12 continuing education units (CEUs) towards their CSCMP SCPro™ certifications, and will receive certificates upon completion of the workshop. Regular and corporate CSCMP members receive special registration rates. Workshop seating is limited so pre-registration is encouraged.
