APM Terminals Pipavav initiates “Pashu Uday” Project in Amreli

The initiative aims to enhance sustainable livelihood of villagers

As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, APM Terminals Pipavav has initiated Pashu Uday project with a vision to increase the population of productive livestock through integrated livestock development, capacity building of the livestock owners & awareness about career options in livestock management among school students in 30 villages around port.

Livestock plays an important role in the economic development of families in rural India and leads to women empowerment as they are intensely involved in the livestock management and their day to day upkeep. Livestock products are an important and sustainable source of income for the villagers. The contribution of livestock is immense in the life of villagers, “Pashu Uday” aims to increase the population of productive livestock, enhance productivity of existing livestock, create awareness related to scientific management, artificial insemination for better breed, livestock insurance, medical support and community fodder development etc. The project also intends to promote awareness about career options related to live stock amongst the youth.
