V. O. CHIDAMBARANAR PORT TRUST CREATED NEW RECORD IN SINGLE DAY HANDLING

V. O. Chidambaranar Port, the vibrant port of South India had handled 10.84 Million Tonnes of cargo and 1.72 Lakh TEUs of Containers up to 12.07.2015 registering a growth rate of 26.57% over corresponding period last year.
On 10.07.2015, the Port created a new record by handling 1,61,108  MT in a single day surpassing the previous Single Day record of  1,48,116 MT on 28.03.2015.
Shri. S. Anantha Chandra Bose, V O Chidambaranar Port Trust, while thanking all the stake holders, Officers and the employees of the Port who have contributed to achieve this record, conveyed that this Port is continuously striving to achieve improvement in performance and productivity in order to attract more volume of traffic through the Port. The Chairman requested all the concerned to continue the same level of performance in future also.
