NIMBUSPOST Forays Into Indonesian Logistics Space

NIMBUSPOST FORAYS INTO THE INDONESIAN LOGISTICS SPACE TO SCALE E-COMMERCE BRANDS

The company has appointed Mr. Adithyan Asokan as the country head for NimbusPost, Indonesia

NimbusPost, the fastest-growing shipping aggregator is expanding its business in Indonesia. India’s most trusted logistics platform for economical shipping requirements, the brand, aims at resolving the eCommerce merchants’ comprehensive shipping hassles from a single platform, so the online brands can focus on scaling their core business. Nimbus Post was launched in 2018 and connects over 40K SMEs and large-sized eCommerce brands to India’s top national and local courier partners to streamline their shipping journey. To expand its foothold across the world, the brand is starting off with Indonesia. The Indonesian logistics industry presently contributes nearly 27% to the country’s GDP with 2500+ traditional 3PL service providers and a 30% market share led by the top 10 3PLs.

On this expansion, Mr. Yash Jain, the Co-founder and CEO of NimbusPost states, “The company will continue to expand its footprint around the globe in the coming years. In a bid to expand our foothold across the world, we’ve started operations in the Southeast Asia region. We’re actively hiring professionals to expand our team across different functions. As far as our business goals are concerned, we see huge business potential in the Indonesian market as the country’s eCommerce revenue is expected to grow at a CAGR of 13.16% by 2025, and the logistics requirements are bound to follow the suit. By entering the Indonesian market, we aim to resolve the shipping needs of all-sized eCommerce businesses. As the existing logistics solutions in the country fail to provide technically-advanced features and advantages to online businesses, NimbusPost intends to bridge this gap with its automated tech-based aggregator platform.”

NimbusPost is expected to hire 500+ people to its Indonesian team over the next quarter to fulfill the country’s logistics requirements swiftly. Backed by Indonesia’s leading 20+ courier partners, NimbusPost will cater to the shipping needs of online brands across 1M+ serviceable destination pairs in the country.

The company has appointed Mr. Adithyan Asokan as the country head for NimbusPost Indonesia.

Indonesia’s eCommerce brands are currently posed by a lack of tech-based shipping platforms and the complex shipping rate comparison process. The logistics giant has currently launched its shipping services in the country and is expected to introduce fulfillment centers and other services in the future to support these brands. Asokan with experience of nearly a decade in SEA across start-ups and unicorns understands market intricacies and will help NimbusPost to function in the expanding country and resolve the at hand issues.

In the current quarter, the company is looking forward to hiring a local team to handle the marketing, sales, and HR operations. Aiming to enter the 3PL business model, NimbusPost is planning to access 35+ domestic 3PLs around mid of this year. The company may also integrate its platform with local payment e-wallets like Gopay, Grabpay, VA, etc.

On the marketing front, the shipping giant is ready to ramp up its marketing spending for digital marketing, influencer marketing, etc. in a bid to acquire 20,000+ users by the mid of 2022.
