DP World Chennai – CCTL on the eve of their 13th anniversary celebrations extended a warm welcome to the Honorable Minister of Shipping, Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari accompanied by privileged dignitaries during his memorable visit to Chennai Port.
The Honorable minister inaugurated the Safety Tower & Environment Innovation drive of CCTL marking the utmost emphasis of DP World policy on Safety & Environment.
As per the D P World Chennai’s ongoing GO GREEN Campaign to save our Environment, planting of sapling by the Hon’ble Union Minister, Shri Gadkari followed by Minister of State, Shri. Pon. Radhakrishnan in the lawns of CCT was the highlight of the day.
To commemorate CCT’s 13th Anniversary the Hon’ble Shri Gadkari cut a cake and sampled it amidst a huge gathering of applause and cheer. Shri Gadkari later launched the e-weighment of containers & e-RFID (Pilot Project) one of its kind in India in CCT’s Board room followed by a brief presentation on the various innovative projects successfully launched viz Pedestrian Free Wharf, Enhanced Yard Safety Program – Zone wise, Environment Friendly Auxiliary engine for the RTG’s deployed, Solar Powered Pinning & Unpinning Stations, Solar Lighting replacing Conventional Electricity. He further appreciated CCTL on their endeavours for “Swach Bharat” campaign of cleaning the terminal & adjoining port premises, Beach Cleaning Campaign, Road Safety Campaign and their contribution to Jammu & Kashmir Flood Relief in the form of Relief Fund Collection drive & despatch of Solar Lamps to the flood affected people.
Shri Ennarasu Karunesan, CEO & Director, CCTL – DP World Chennai welcomed the visiting dignitaries with the traditional shawl draping.
