India: Up 19 steps in logistics performance index

The World Bank report is heartening. The latest report of the World Bank on Logistics Performance Index ranks India as the 35th out of 160 countries in improving the movement of its goods inside the country. The last report, released in 2014, placed India at 54th step. What this means is that India has improved not only its ability to track and trace consignments but also the quality of its trade and transport infrastructure. The report also suggests that India’s competence and quality of logistics services has improved vastly. It also shows that India has scored better than New Zealand, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Iceland, Latvia and Indonesia.
