Intelligrated Systems Inc. will make Honeywell richer by combining its material handling automation products enabling the latter to be able to conduct e-commerce and home delivery. The move, pegged at US $1.5 billion, has come close on the heels of Atlanta-based systems integrator Dematic Corp being acquired by Germany’s Kion Group AG for US $2.1 billion. The twin moves have only emphasized the rapid increase in the business of e-commerce and home delivery services.
Honeywell’s products in mobile computers, scanning and auto-identification, voice automation technology are anticipated to receive a fillip by Intelligrated’s warehouse execution system (WES) software and order fulfillment technology.
