DIPA Onboards Gruner Renewable Energy as New Member, Strengthening Its Commitment to Sustainable Green Energy Amid Mounting Fuel Crisis
The partnership marks a strategic step toward integrating green energy solutions into India’s digital infrastructure and advancing DIPA’s vision of a zero-carbon, future-ready ecosystem.
New Delhi, The Digital Infrastructure Providers Association (DIPA), India’s apex industry body for digital infrastructure providers and a key stakeholder under the National Broadband Mission 2.0 (NBM 2.0) of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), has onboarded Gruner Renewable Energy as a new member. This membership marks a significant milestone in DIPA’s mission to align India’s telecom and digital infrastructure ecosystem with sustainable, zero-carbon green energy solutions – a need made ever more pressing by the deepening global fuel crisis and rising energy costs threatening the continuity of network operations across the country.
India’s telecom sector is amongst the most energy-intensive industries in the country. Powering towers, fibre nodes, and last-mile connectivity infrastructure collectively accounts for a substantial share of the sector’s operational expenditure and carbon footprint. Diesel generators – still widely used as backup and primary power sources at remote sites – contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions and are acutely vulnerable to fuel price volatility. As conventional fuel costs surge and supply certainty diminishes, the imperative to transition toward clean, renewable energy sources has never been more urgent. Gruner Renewable Energy’s partnership with DIPA directly addresses this critical challenge of the sector.
Gruner Renewable Energy, fully vertically integrated company, operates in the compressed biogas (CBG) sector and provides end-to-end EPC solutions across the project lifecycle-from concept development and engineering to procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational support. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, the company helps convert biomass and bio-waste into clean, renewable fuel solutions.

Manoj Kumar Singh, Director General, Digital Infrastructure Providers Association (DIPA) said: “We are delighted to welcome Gruner Renewable Energy to DIPA. The fuel crisis has made it abundantly clear that fossil-dependent infrastructure is neither resilient nor responsible. Gruner’s expertise in renewable energy and zero-carbon solutions aligns directly with our vision for a sustainable digital infrastructure ecosystem. Together, we aim to contribute toward policy advocacy and support the adoption of sustainable and clean energy standards that will help build a resilient, future-ready, and environmentally responsible digital connectivity infrastructure for India”
Utkarsh Gupta, Founder & CEO, Gruner Renewable Energy stated, “Being part of DIPA at this pivotal moment is a tremendous opportunity. India’s digital growth cannot rest on a fragile energy foundation, and the fuel crisis has only accelerated that realisation. At Gruner, we are committed to making renewable energy the default choice for the telecom sector. Through this platform, we look forward to contributing meaningfully toward conducive policy advocacy and supporting the development of a sustainable, resilient, and truly carbon-neutral digital infrastructure backbone for India.”
