ACMAAutomotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), the apex body representing India’s auto component manufacturing industry, announced the appointment of Rattan Kapur, Chairman & Managing Director, Mark Exhaust Systems Ltd. as the President of ACMA and Nirmal K. Minda, Chairman & Managing Director, Minda Industries Ltd. as the Vice President, ACMA for the term 2016-17. The announcement was made at the 56th ACMA Annual Session during its Executive Committee meeting.

Announcing the new President, ACMA Director General, Vinnie Mehta, said, “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Rattan Kapur as ACMA President. Mr. Kapur brings in a wealth of knowledge with a strong background in automotive industry.

Accepting the new charge of responsibility, ACMA President, Rattan Kapur, said, “It is an honour and privilege to be appointed as President of ACMA, which is the apex body of the Indian Auto Component Industry. Serving as the Vice President of ACMA for the past one-year has given me an opportunity to work closely with its members, understand the issues, challenges and roadblocks that the auto components industry has been facing. The auto component industry has progressed well in the last decade and is prepared for next phase of growth.”

Further, it gives me immense pleasure to report that despite various challenges in the last one decade, the Indian auto-component industry managed to surpass its Automotive Mission Plan 2006-16 target in FY2016 by recording an overall turnover of Rs.2,55,636 crore (USD 39 billion), added, Kapur.
